He threatened to kill the dog in front of the children. He was barred from possessing firearms as well. A week later, he got the order thrown out, just in time for the primary.
John Gray was the president of the Goshen, Ohio, school board when he was caught in a Predator Catchers Muncie sting. He had served five terms on the school board. He showed up in Farmland, Indiana to meet who he thought would be an eleven-year-old girl. He was charged with soliciting a minor.
Ray Holmberg was a North Dakota senator for 44 years. In 2020, Caton Todd accused him of sexual assault. His allegation was ignored by the media. It got a little more attention when it was discovered that Holmberg exchanged 72 text messages with a man charged with distributing child sex abuse material (CSAM), possessing CSAM, and transporting two children from Minneapolis to Grand Forks, ND, in order to sexually abuse them.
Ken Kratz was the District Attorney of Calumet County, in Wisconsin. He became infamous for his prosecution of Stephen Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey in the second murder case after Avery was exonerated. This was covered in the Making a Murderer documentary. In spite of that, he kept his job, but he was forced out when people learned he coerced domestic violence survivors who needed him to prosecute their abusers.
Andrew Tate is an avid Trump advocate, a citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom, he moved to Romania because rape laws are more lenient there, according to him. He’s been accused of rape and trafficking and has been arrested for trafficking 75 women, forcing them to create pornographic content or perform phone sex. His is currently detained in Romania.
Lyndon J. McLeod was a misogynist who ranted in the manosphere about women and how the strong need to control or kill the weak. He wrote three books under the name Roman McClay that named the people he set out to kill, though when people reported to the Denver Police Department that he really intended to kill the people named in his novel, they did not take the warning seriously.
David G. Landfair was the Mayor of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Before that he was on the City Council for eight years. In 2019, an adult woman went back to her high school and told the Principal that a teacher whom she knew from high school was sending her messages on Seeking Arrangements, a website that specializes in older men finding younger women, a sugar daddy/sugar baby site. They began an investigation and found he was doing this on school time which resulted in discipline. They said he no longer worked there.
The incident got national attention and regional media did some basic research on Nakapalau and discovered he had been convicted of nine counts of possession child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in 2000. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail though he spent 52 on work release. He had a further five years probation.
In a decision that practically ensures more children will be abused, Miyares handed the investigation of Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents off to a local prosecutor with a small staff, so the resources of the state and its investigators will no longer be brought to bear on an institution accused of neglect and abuse. More than three dozen women allege they were sexually abused. More than fifty people have filed suit against the hospital for abuse. The previous Attorney General Mark Herring had already prosecuted two staff, but now it will depend on what a small, local prosecutor can do. The prosecutor, T. Scott Renick, had not asked for jurisdiction to be returned.
