J. R. Romano was the Chair of the Connecticut Republican Party. When he learned of Thomas Gilmer’s assault allegations two months before the primary, he hushed them up until Gilmer was arrested the night before the primary. This left the party with voters voting the next day for a candidate who had just withdrawn.
John Gallman was a Republican primary candidate for South Carolina’s state senate. He was accused of domestic violence. He lost the primary. He sued his primary opponent and a local paper for defamation. The case has not been adjudicated yet.
Robert Forsythe was a New Hampshire state representative. While running for re-election, he was accused of domestic violence, choking an intimate partner who was pregnant at the time and kneeing her in the back.
George Halcovage was a Schuykill County Commissioner who was accused of sexual harassment by four county employees. The harassment includes allegations of sexual assault. They also alleged improper remarks, solicitations for sex, and even showing up at their homes.
David Hawk is a Tennessee State Representative. He also ran in the primary for US House District 1, but only got about 5% of the vote. It’s not as bad as it sounds. There were ten in the primary. In 2012, he was charged in a domestic violence incident. The grand jury refused to indict him with the misdemeanor and instead charged him with felony reckless endangerment.
Loren Culp is a former police chief. He came in second in the open primary for governor, a Republican running against Democratic incumbent Jay Inslee of Washington. He lost. He came in third in the open primary for the 4th Congressional District in Washington, putting him out of the race. He also cost the city of Republic, Washington, $275,000 by bungling a child sexual assault case. He decided he didn’t believe the child and threatened her with prosecution.
Marcie Adkins was a Florida primary candidate for the State Legislature. She hired a campaign manager whose criminal record is disturbing. He was charged with rape but pled to a lesser charge. He was charged by Cherokee Indian Police with leaving his 6-year-old child in a car while he was in a casino gambling. He pled guilty to beating his wife. When asked about doubling down, she said she would triple down.
Robert Burns was the campaign manager for Marcie Adkins, a Republican primary candidate competing against Republican Rep. Randy Fine. He was accused of raping and sodomizing a woman while she was incapacitated in Colorado. In South Carolina he was charged by Cherokee Indian Police with leaving his child in a car while he was in a casino gambling. In Richland County, SC, he pled guilty to beating his wife.
Tucker Carlson is the most popular host on FOX News. A white nationalist who foments racist violence by promoting the “Great Replacement” theory that inspired the Holocaust, has also been accused of sexual harassment. The lawsuit brought by Cathy Areu was dismissed before her allegations could be litigated as she was not an employee of FOX News.
Sean Hannity is a popular FOX News host and was an informal Trump advisor. He has been accused of sexual misconduct by two women. The conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel claimed he twice asked her back to his hotel room and after she declined was never asked back on his show. She clarified that she did not want to accuse him of sexual harassment. She said he was “weird and creepy” and made her uncomfortable, but that it didn’t fit the legal definition of sexual harassment. She was not his employee or subordinate, so that could be why she said it wasn’t technically sexual harassment.
