Peter O’Rourke was the GOP Executive Director in Florida when he was accused of covering up sexual harassment complaints, retaliation, and political meddling at the Department of Veteran Affairs. In one example, he pulled an experienced investigator off the investigation of a Trump appointee named Peter Shelby, replacing him with a new investigator. He also socialized with Shelby and listened to Shelby’s venting. At Shelby’s request, the whistleblower was investigated.

Clint Reed was the Arkansas Republican Party director before he was hired by Sen. Mark Rubio as his Chief of Staff for sexual misconduct. Rubio was made aware of the misconduct, did an investigation with his general counsel, found there were some threats of withholding employment benefits and improper conduct between a supervisor and subordinates. Reed was fired the next day.

Florida Rep. Ritch Workman was appointed to the Public Service Commission that regulates Florida utilities but before he could serve, a state senator, a fellow Republican, came forward with an allegation of sexual misconduct. His resignation came just a few minutes after state Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto, said she repeatedly made “vulgar and inappropriate’ gestures toward her at an event.

Scott Beierle was a member of FSU Republicans and the Facebook group We Are Conservatives. He also was an open misogynist and racist who posted hate-filled videos on YouTube ranting against women and interracial marriage. He admired Elliot Rodger, the man who killed six and wounded fourteen in California. He was forty years old and ranting about girls who slighted him in eighth grade to the present.

He was fired as a substitute teacher for inappropriately touching a middle school girl. There were regullar complaints about him being creepy.

Before he entered a Florida yoga studio and killed two people and wounded four, he was arrested for groping women and prosecutors dropped the charges.

Rupert Tarsey was elected Secretary of the Broward County Executive Committee. He had worked hard on Trump’s election, registering Republican voters in a liberal county. But he was not who he seemed to be.

He was born Rupert Ditsworth. His family was wealthy and he attended an exclusive prep school near his home in Beverly Hills. One day he invited another student, Elizabeth Barcay, to eat lunch in his Jaguar. He confessed he was feeling suicidal and when she suggested seeking counseling he beat her with a hammer until it broke and then he tried to strangle her. There were forty wounds from the beating. Incredibly, she bit him, broke free, ran away, before collapsing in someone’s yard. She survived. He was charged with attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon

He pleaded no contest to one count of promoting sexual performance of a child and 28 counts of possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the first and upon release 10 years of probation for the 28 counts of possession of child pornography.

Al Harrison was the Gulf County Florida sheriff. He used this position as sheriff to force imprisoned women to have sex with him. That is rape. One of the women whom he raped six times also alleged he threatened her with a gun. US. Marshals took him into custody, charged with the federal crimes. He was charged with ten misdemeanor counts of violating their civil rights. Prosecutors said the charges are misdemeanors because federal law requires serious bodily injury for a civil rights violation to be a felony. Why is rape not considered a serious bodily injury?

Bob Coy was the pastor of a the largest megachurch in Florida. In Fort Lauderdale, Coy’s Calvary Chapel had 25,000 in regular attendance. He hosted George W. Bush and Benjamin Netanyahu and was a frequent guest on religious radio and television. He was sought out by Republicans for endorsements. His standards were so low he endorsed war criminal Allen West. Then he resigned, admitting to having several affairs and being addicted to pornography. He went to work for a dance club.

The police got a call from a woman asking them to talk to her daughter about what Bob Coy had done to her. They heard a very graphic, detailed story of sexual abuse beginning when the girl was four and continuing for ten years. So what happened after that? The police did nothing. They did not question Coy. Coy’s attorneys persuaded a Republican judge to seal Coy’s divorce records so they could not be used to investigate the church. The church has an unsavory history of lax supervision and pedophile pastors being fired and rehired elsewhere without the police being informed of their actions
