1490: Krystal Hurd

Krystal Hurd was a Sanibel, Florida, city employee who worked as a camp counselor at Sanibel Recreation Center. She was trusted with the community’s children and exploited that trust. Four of her victims have come forward and police suspect there may be more.

1487: Matthew McGinley

Matthew McGinley, a former worship pastor and Christian school teacher, has been charged with sexually assaulting a former student, a minor. He is also a songwriter, founder of Ascent Project, a Fort Collins, Colorado, church he co-founded.

He has been accused of grooming a student and having a sexual “relationship” (otherwise known as raping a minor) with a minor student (child.) The assaults continued for a year until the student cut off contact.

1482: George Bell

George Bell was the pastor of Anchor Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He founded the church and served as its pastor for thirty-five years. He built an extremely conservative church that does not even permit men and women to swim together. “No mixed swimming” they call it. They also do not believe in affiliating with other churches in any way. “There are liberal and modern groups which are joining hands with such. We believe it is a sin to support or bid Godspeed to any such movements. Therefore we will not support or affiliate with the World Council of Churches, the National Counsel of Churches or any other group that is liberal or modernistic in belief.”

George Bell, however, did believe in raping children. He was charged with four counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. The victim was less than ten years old.

1473: Silas Shelton

Silas Shelton is still listed as the pastor at Blanchester Community Ministries. He is out on $250,000 bail for an array of crimes against children including rape and sexual battery. He was indicted for abusing one child, a member of his congregation, over the course of six years but police expect that there will be other victims as that is common with most sexual predators.

1472: John C. Sapp

John C. Sapp was a youth pastor at the conservative Maranatha Fellowship church in Dover, Delaware. They ascribe to the anti-gay, anti-choice Conservative Mennonite Statement of Practice. In February, 2020, he confessed that he was raping a minor in the congregation. But only because she had told someone about it.

1471: Les Hughey

Les Hughey is the founder of Highlands Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Highlands is a megachurch with around fifty staff. Before founding Highlands, he was a youth pastor at Scottsdale Bible Church and the First Baptist Church in Modesto, California. He left his position in Modesto after several allegations of sexual abuse of the girls and young women at the church emerged. The church sent him off without disclosing his actions to the congregation. He resigned from Highlands.

1470: Michael Brown

Michael L. Brown, founder of FIRE School of Ministry was investigated for sexual misconduct and the claims were found to be valid. He abused his position as minister in relationships with 2 women, one was 18 and told to call him Daddy. The Firefly report was released in April, 2025.

1464: Nick Fountain

Nick Fountain was a Shippack Township Supervisor in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. After he was appointed to the Board in 2013, he won re-election and has been vice-chair for twelve years. He ran unsuccessfully for the Pennsylvania House in 2018 and Senate in 2022. He is also the owner of two daycare centers. He was charged with soliciting a minor and soliciting child sexual abuse material from a fourteen-year-old child in Maryland.

1458: Adam King

Abuse of Power or Authority, Sexual Harassment

Adam King is the Sheriff of Johnson County, Texas. He recently went to court to be allowed to return to work in spite of his four criminal indictments for sexual harassment, retaliation, and now, perjury for lying to a grand jury. The investigation is in the hands of the Texas Rangers so his own deputies are not put in the awful position of having to investigate their boss.

1450: Stewart Ruch

Stewart Ruch is a bishop in the Anglican Church of North America, the schismatic group that left the Episcopal Church in opposition to its “liberalism” in allowing the ordination of women, inclusion of LGBTIQA members, and gay marriage. He is facing an ecclesiastical (church) trial over allegations that he covered up serial sexual abuse of children.
