The Texas Board of Education produced a revision of their Sex Education curriculum in 2020. They made Sex Ed an elective that was opt-in, not opt-out. Now students must get their parents signatures to learn about sexually transmitted diseases and sexual hygiene. It is no longer abstinence-only, allowing for teaching contraception methods. However, they are not allowed to teach about LGBTIQA students, gender identity, and, inexplicably, consent.

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Ben Gibson ran to represent LA-4 in Congress but fortunately, he lost. He was one month later for four counts of possession of child sexual exploitation material involving juveniles. There is a bit of George Santos at work with him as well. He claimed to work for the Bossier City Fire Department, but he didn’t. He didn’t work for the city at all. He was caught in a sting by the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit.

Organizational Cover-Up, Rape Culture

Dan Crenshaw is a Congressman from Texas and a former Navy SEAL where he lost an eye to an IED. He is more cosmopolitan than most of his fellow representatives having lived in Scotland, Ecuador, and Colombia and graduating from Tufts and Harvard universities. He is publicly critical of the House Freedom Caucus. But when a woman alleged she had been assaulted at the VA, he assisted Robert Wilkie in a campaign to discredit and disparage her, alleging she had a history of false complaints. Then he refused to cooperate with the investigation, refusing to be interviewed by the Inspector General.

Mellissa Carone was Giuliani’s star witness in Michigan and one of the conspirators in an attempted coup. If it were not our democracy at stake, she would have been funny. She alleged that the Dominion voter machines were hacked. People thought she may have been drunk. She baselessly claimed she witnessed massive voter fraud.

Organizational Cover-Up, Sexual Harassment

Darrell Cafasso was head of litigation at Goldman Sachs and a GOP donor who has even donated to Ron DeSantis. He was also accused of sexual harassment and Goldman Sachs was accused of covering it up. A confidante of the woman he harassed reported and and sued Goldman Sachs alleging retaliation and organizational coverup, but a judge ruled she had to go through arbitration, not a lawsuit.

542: Joe Scarnati

Enabling, Organizational Cover-Up, Rape Culture

Joe Scarnati was a Republican state senator in Pennsylvania. He served as President pro tempore for thirteen years until his 2020 retirement. During that time, he was on the side of the victimizers and not the victims of sexual abuse. After the 2020 election, as one of his last actions as a retiring Senator, he forced through a vote to not confirm a second term for the state victim’s advocate, a woman who allegedly advocated too hard for the victims of the Catholic church abuse scandal.

Stalking/Harassment

Ken Kurson is a friend of Jared Kushner, editing Kushner’s New York Observer. He was also a Giuliani confidante and a political consultant. He was nominated to a seat on the board of the National Endowment of the Humanities but withdrew claiming it was too much paperwork. In fact, the initial background check for all nominees uncovered that he was stalking and harassing three people. He was arrested on federal charges of cyber-stalking, installing a keystroke recorder, calling employers to make complaints about them, and more. One of the people he is accused of cyberstalking is his ex-wife.

539: George Rutler

George Rutler is a reactionary Catholic priest who advocates for conservative causes, mocks liberals, and attacks Pope Francis. He has had his own radio show, a church in midtown Manhattan, writes opinion pieces for a few Catholic magazines, and has written books on Catholic history. He compared Gov. Cuomo to King Herod. He is downright mean. To get an idea of how mean, he was enraged by a eulogy praising David Bowie who wrote that Bowie’s death was the first time he knew he existed. He bragged of walking out of events and restaurants if rock music is played, Funny how he did not know Bowie existed but knew enough to call him on of the “paragons of degeneracy and paladins of vice.”

He has been accused of sexual assault.
