Schaeffer Cox was an unsuccessful Republican primary challenger for Alaska state House of Representatives. He got a respectable 37% of the vote in the primary. He was also involved in Ron Paul’s campaign for the presidency. He was very active in gun rights and was one of the founders of the Fairbanks Second Amendment Task Force. He is now in prison for conspiracy in a wild plan to kill several people.

He first got in trouble with the law for domestic violence. Originally he was charged with second-degree assault after his wife claimed he hit and choked her. He pled guilty to reckless endangerment in a deal for two years probation and a one-month suspended sentence.

David Wilson is a Republican senator from Wasilla, Alaska. If he had trusted the process when he was accused of sexual harassment, he would not be on this list. But he retaliated against the woman he was accused of harassing, making her fear for her job. Not cool. The woman never filed a complaint. The witnesses to the incident were the ones who brought it forward.

He is also a rape apologist. He denies that Kavanaugh could have raped Christine Blasey Ford because she did not scream. She needed witnesses! He argues that if a woman does not fight and does not scream, it is not rape. It is a false accusation, not rape. When he was criticized for his ignorant and false arguments, he doubled down. Oddly enough, he is eager to call Black men, Muslim men, and South African men rapists.

Chuck Hunter was 61 and though he lost his race for Circuit Court 10 in 2010 but in 2012 he was running for Circuit Court 11. He placed an ad on Craigslist seeking someone under 30 for sex. An undercover police officer responded in the role of a 14-year-old boy. After several back-and-forth messages, Hunter arranged to meet this 14-year-old at a restaurant with the intention of having sex. He was arrested when he showed up. They got a search warrant and found him in possession of child sexual exploitation materials.

205: James Graves

James Graves was the chairman of the Cullman County Commission in 2008, but lost his re-election bid and lost the subsequent primary. He was also a member of the Republican Party Executive Committee. In May 2017, he was arrested for sexually abusing a minor, a 17-year-old whom he had molested more than once but came forward after the most recent incident. He was 74. He pleaded guilty and got a 10-year suspended sentence and five years probation.

204: Jeremy Durham

Jeremy Durham was a Tennessee state representative. Several women alleged that he sexually harassed them and behaved inappropriately. He would drink in his office and have sex in his office. He texted women demanding pictures. The Attorney General investigated and found plenty of evidence that would justify expelling him but recommended leaving it up to the voters. That changed as more information came to light. He was expelled 70+2

203: Mark Lovell

Mark Lovell was a Republican state representative in Tennessee for about 100 days. He won the GOP primary over the incumbent who had a DUI and a firearms arrest, and then an arrest for stealing Lovell’s yard signs. Lovell bailed him out of jail which seems a clever campaign act that only cost $100. Like many legislators, he went frequently to industry receptions where free food an alcohol are served. These are legal so long as all legislators are invited. He seemed to get drunk at these events.

On Feb. 7, 2018, Lovell attended five receptions. He got visibly drunk and in front of a room full of witnesses grabbed one woman’s breasts and buttocks; prevented another woman from walking away from him; and touched a third woman inappropriately. One of the women filed a formal complaint. The house ethics committee investigated and found he definitely did what several people saw and a few photographed.

He continued to deny it but resigned, signing a resignation letter written by Republican party leadership

202: David Hawk

Rep. David Hawk got into an argument with his wife and struck her while she was holding their baby. He grabbed her by the arm, struck her in the face, and knocked her to the ground. He took the baby from her and went to a neighbor’s house while she ran to another neighbor’s house. The police were called. He was arrested. He was later convicted of misdemeanor reckless endangerment. Despite his conviction, he won reelection and is still in the Tennessee House of Representatives and has been thinking of running for Congress.

201: Jud McMillin

Jud McMillin was reportedly a “rising star” in the Indiana Republican Party. He was elected in 2010 and quickly became the majority floor leader. He was considered the most ambitious in the caucus. That fell apart in 2015 when several suggestive and inappropriate texts were sent from his phone and sexual explicit video was also sent. This was followed by a message asking people to ignore what was sent because his phone was out of his hands and his control for several hours, but he had it back. But there was that sex video.

200: Curtis Hill

Curtis Hill was the Attorney General of Indiana after serving as a prosecutor for many years. When the legislative session ended in 2018, folks went to an area bar to celebrate. Four women came forward with complaints about him touching them inappropriately, including sliding his hands under their clothes and groping them in two cases. Additional women complained of him telling them they need to show more skin. There was an investigation, but it was centered on what liability the government might have which was none since it was an unofficial event and the women did not work for him.
