Adam Hageman was a Trump administration appointee to the Commerce Department. Before that, he worked for Turning Point USA, an extremist group organizing on college campuses. TPUSA has become known for the racism of its staff and leaders and for violating campaign finance laws.
Hageman was arrested for possessing child sexual abuse material. He was part of a ring of men including Ruben Verastigui, another Trump Republican. In the affidavit, the Homeland Security agent reported Hageman’s preferences in detail. Among the things Hageman said in the group, he complained that the pandemic shutdown kept him from exposing himself to young children in public restrooms.
Hageman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison.
