543: Darrell Cafasso

Darrell Cafasso was head of litigation at Goldman Sachs and a GOP donor who has even donated to Ron DeSantis. He was also accused of sexual harassment and Goldman Sachs was accused of covering it up. A confidante of the woman he harassed reported and and sued Goldman Sachs alleging retaliation and organizational coverup, but a judge ruled she had to go through arbitration, not a lawsuit.

According to the woman suing Goldman Sachs, Cafasso became enamored of a colleague and pursued her despite her rejection. He promised her favors and promotions and they began an affair. When Cafasso’s wife found out, he said the woman was a temptress and more. The woman quit her job, humiliated by the public exposure. There was an investigation, which Crawford alleged was phony, a ploy to cover up the harassment. The woman confided in Crawford who sought help for her within the company and was subsequently retaliated against with negative reviews and firing.

Goldman Sachs has a large giving history that is fairly evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.

The woman, Jane Doe, has pursued a separate claim.
