Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Republican governor of California, was accused of groping six women while he was an actor. In 2002, three women told the L.A. Times that he grabbed their breast, another said he reached under her skirt and grabbed her buttocks. Another said he groped her and tried to remove her swimsuit. Another said he pulled her onto his lap and asked if she had ever experienced a particular sex act. Friends and relatives of most of the accusers have confirmed that they were told about it when they happened. The women wanted to stay anonymous for fear of reprisals and loss of reputation. At least three more women came forward after the original six.
Two years later, it came out that right-wing American Media paid an actress not to discuss her alleged affair with him. In 2011, his wife left after learning he had an affair with the housekeeper (in his employ!) and they had a child together.
