John Boswell is a GOP donor and party activist. He’s also sexually assaulted two women in less than two years.
He was in D. C. to celebrate Trump’s Inauguration. While at the Mayflower Hotel, he walked up behind the maid who was cleaning his room, grabbed her buttocks and said “I like that.” A second maid entered the room as the first one fled. He also approached the second woman and put his hand on her shoulder. When one of them told a supervisor the next day, the police were called. To their credit, they arrested Boswell. He pleaded guilty, got a suspended sentence of ten days in jail, six months probation, and was fined $50. Yes, $50. And an odd sort of probation that allowed him to travel overseas for vacations. Meanwhile, his lawyers so intimidate the maid by going to her home that she felt forced to move.
The following year, he exposed himself to another woman who was cleaning a bathroom at a club. He blocked her escape. He and his family are claiming it’s Alzheimer’s but it’s also a pattern of behavior. He sees a women who is a domestic worker and sexually assaults her. That seems to be more about power.
It’s possible that age has eroded his inhibitions. It then become incumbent on his caregivers to prevent situations where he can assault someone.
