David Wilson is a Republican senator from Wasilla, Alaska. If he had trusted the process when he was accused of sexual harassment, he would not be on this list. But he retaliated against the woman he was accused of harassing, making her fear for her job. Not cool. The woman never filed a complaint. The witnesses to the incident were the ones who brought it forward.
He was fooling around pretending to listen in and record a closed-door meeting. A staffer told him to stop so he held his phone pretending to record through her legs. To witnesses, it looked like an upskirt shot and one of them reported it as such. But there was a video review and investigation that cleared Wilson of attempting an upskirt shot. The investigator, however, found that Wilson’s public statements in his defense were retaliatory against the staffer who did not report him at all.
“I never asked for this to be investigated and never accused Sen. Wilson of anything, yet, somehow in some people’s minds, I’m to blame for this,” the staffer told the Empire. “This has been a pretty horrible experience from start to finish.”
