1448: Hector Carranza

Hector Carranza

Hector Carranza was a Gresham, Oregon, police officer. He was placed on administrative leave in November 2024 after a complaint that accused him of criminal conduct. The City asked for an outside investigation which resulted in Carranza’s arrest in July. He resigned in September. There were 56 separate charges against him including 1 of 3rd-degree rape, 12 counts of 3rd-degree sodomy, 24 counts of 2nd-degree sex abuse, 5 counts of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, 5 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse, 5 counts of luring a minor, and 1 count of attempting to use a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

He allegedly sexually abused a girl from when she was fourteen until she was eighteen. She testified to the grand jury and had messages that showed his awareness of her age, including references to school and getting her driver’s license. His lawyer argued that he hasn’t been molesting minors since 2017 when that “relationship” ended.
