Richard “Rick” Renno was the Treasurer of Benton County, Missouri. In June, 2025, he was charged with enticement or attempted enticement of a child and sexual misconduct involving a child under 15. The investigation began in August, 2024, when accusations were made that an adult man used Grindr to engage in conversations of a fourteen-year-old child.
A family member provided screenshots that showed his conversations and nude photographs from his account. The family member told investigators that he used electronic devices to solicit sex from young men or boys.
Renno told investigators he had been using Grindr for about ten years and admitted to having conversations with minors.
