Brock Fredin is a Twitter user in Wisconsin and and avid pro-Trump activist who posts under the name Judicial Protest. It was his tweet of a picture of Sen. Schumer with Allison Greenfield that Trump screenshot and tweeted at the start of his New York trial implying a conspiracy against him. This led to threats against her life and ongoing harassment of both the judge and his law clerk.
Fredin has a history of stalking and harassment and had been adjudicated in court as stalking/harassing three separate women. He has three fifty-year restraining orders to protect three women. He’s been accused of rape, though he was not indicted. He’s also been convicted twice of violating restraining orders.
Two of the women he met on a dating site and quickly creeped them out, even creeping one out before they ever met. The third is a prosecutor who posted a picture of him suggesting it be shared widely to protect women. She did this after a woman came forward accusing Bredin of rape. He was not prosecuted for it, so Fredin sued her for defamation, a case that was dismissed by a judge who remarked that failure to charge didn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Fredin appealed a restraining order claiming that he was just lovelorn like Edgar Allen Poe. The judge responded, “When one is characterized, rightly or wrongly, as a frighteningly
obsessive ex-boyfriend eligible for a harassment restraining order, the typical strategy for a reversal does not include aligning oneself with an allegedly opium-inspired author whose obsession with his deceased lover and other macabre poetry and prose are most commonly narrated for their chilling effect.”
