Kevin Alfred Strom founded National Vanguard, a neo-Nazi organization, He had a long history within the white nationalist movement. In 2007, he was arrested for child pornography.
Strom was indoctrinated in extremism by a high school history teacher who brought him into the John Birch Society. He later followed the notorious William Pierce of the National Alliance and author of “The Turner Diaries.” The reason Strom left the Birchers for the Nazis is that the Birchers did not focus on race. He expected to succeed Pierce but was passed over and left to found National Vanguard.
His wife caught him watching child sexual assault material (child pornography) and turned him in. He was charged with possessing and receiving child pornography, enticing a minor to perform sex acts, and intimidating a witness, but was allowed to plea to only one count of child pornography. He was sentenced to 23 months.
