Laverne Paul Fox was the principal of Faith Baptist Academy in Wildomar, California. Thirty years ago, he raped a 15-year-old girl who came forward as an adult. Fox was extradited from Pennsylvania to face trial in California. However, he pleaded guilty in a deal for 18 months prison, but the judge sentenced him to two years after hearing the victim’s statement.
Other victims came forward about abuse at that school. Malo Victor Monteiro also worked at Faith Baptist Academy and was convicted of sexually abusing a child. Monteiro received a five-year sentence.
There is a lawsuit against the church associated with the Academy alleging they covered up the abuse and sent the offenders to other churches to avoid scandal.
