Stephen and Melina McPherson

Stephen L. McPherson was the Assistant Dean of Regent University Law School that was founded by the arch-conservative bigot Pat Robertson. Mark Martin who was dean in 2021 was among the lawyers seeking to overturn the election on behalf of Trump. McPherson and his wife Melina who were house parents at Hope Haven Children’s Home that places children in Christian homes. The McPherson’s adopted three children whom they sexually abused and raped. He abused two of the girls while she abused the other.

They were both convicted. Stephen McPherson was sentenced to 80 years with 64 suspended. He could have received a life sentence for just one of the offenses, but instead will serve an effective sentence of sixteen years. Melina McPherson was sentenced to 5 years with 4 suspended for indecent liberties with a child in her custody. He is due to be released in 2025.
