Harshdeep “Harry” Brar was appointed the deputy director of Nassau County’s Office of Asian American Affairs. He was also, for a time, a campaign manager for George Santos’ Devolder Santos PAC and also employed by RISE NY PAC, a state PAC run by Santos’ sister. He was paid $72, 265.62 by RISE NY PAC in the 2022 Election Cycle.
In September 2022, he was arrested for choking a child of ten. The attack was alleged to have happened in July 2021. He was charged with charged with criminal obstruction of breathing/strangulation, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty and was released without bond.
According to the complainant, he was at her home. She heard noises from her son’s bedroom and went in to check and found Brar in their holding her son, around the neck, choking him. When she tried to intervene, he began punching her son and her.
