David Stone was a Richmond, Virginia, police officer. He was arrested in January 2023 and charged with fifty child sexual abuse material charges. The Sheriff’s office began investigating in 2022 when they got a tip from Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. They searched his home in November 2022. When his electronic devices were examined fifty images of CSAM were found including pictures of infants.
When the Richmond Police Department learned of the warrants for Stone, they put him on unpaid administrative leave, arrested him, and turned him over to the Louisa County Sheriff.
Stone pleaded guilty to all fifty charges on May 1st. Sentencing is set for July 17th
