Richard E. Jacklin was an Illinois Catholic priest at St. Mary Immaculate Parish whose bulletins are full of denunciations of secular and liberal government. He was arrested in 2017 after a nurse walked in and caught him performing oral sex on a patient. He argued in his defense that the patient forced him to do it. The patient was partially paralyzed and had an IQ of 47.
In 2022, he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual assault and sexual misconduct. In January, 2023, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
