Kevin Etherington was the Assistant District Attorney of Logan and Payne Counties in Oklahoma. In November, 2022, he was arrested and charged with possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM.)
Google notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that there was CSAM on a Google Drive account. They said it was tied to Etherington. Also on the drive were his photos of himself and his tax return. And 153 videos and photos depicture child sexual abuse. Agents believe the children were as young as 6 years old. There were also voyeuristic photos of girls who lived in his apartment complex, cheerleaders, tennis players, girls by the apartment pool. The pictures were focused on their buttocks.
He had a probable cause hearing on May 5, 2023, and argued that he could have accidentally downloaded them while downloading from a work drive. About the photos he took, he said, “I’m not saying that I don’t see anything wrong with it. I’m saying it’s not child pornography,” Etherington said. “That’s a fetish, bro.”
The judge added an additional Peeping Tom charge.
His license to practice law has been suspended.
