Joshua Burton Henley was youth pastor at Holladay Church of Christ in Tennessee and coached the girls’ basketball team at Holladay Elementary from 2017 until 2021. He then moved to Indiana, working at Washington Avenue Church of Christ in Evansville, Indiana.
He came back to Tennessee in June, 2021, to bring a young girl from his old church to assist at his new one. It was a ploy and he sexually assaulted her. He was arrested on the road back to Tennessee. The police then found child sexual abuse material on his phone as well as conversations with two other Tennessee teens. When interviewed, they confirmed he had sexually abused them as well.
He has worked with kids in Indiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas, but there has not been an investigation into his activities elsewhere.
He pleaded guilty to eight counts, including producing CSAM, transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity, sending explicit videos and images to a minor and possessing and transporting CSAM. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison plus ten years probation.
