MICHIGAN- Soliciting a Minor
We are regrettably informing you about predator #1,550 as CBS reports, a city council member in Northern Lower Michigan who is facing felony charges relating to sexual conversations with two individuals who were posing as a teenage boy, state police said.
The Michigan State Police said Robert J. Wilson, 44, of Gaylord, was arrested on March 25, 2026 and lodged at the Otsego County Jail on one charge each of accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime.
He was arraigned in Otsego County’s 87-A District Court, where bond was set at $10,000 cash.
Wilson represents Ward 2 on the Gaylord City Council, and his current term runs through January 2027. This put him in a position of power to take advantage of people and be around young victims.

INVESTIGATION
The Michigan State Police say troopers began investigating on March 14, 2026 after a report of communications between Wilson and two people posing as a 15-year-old. Investigators say those conversations were allegedly sexual in nature. According to the agency, the contact led to Wilson traveling to a local hotel, where troopers responded and gathered evidence that was then forwarded to the Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office.

What are the penalties for Solicitation of a Minor in Michigan anyways? In this state, solicitation of a minor constitutes a felony punishable by up to four years in prison, a fine of up to $4,000, or both. A conviction for solicitation of a minor can have other consequences beyond a criminal sentence.

Our initial lookup came up dry and could not concretely identify the predator’s party affiliation for this report. Although it is difficult to fathom a sitting city councilman that doesn’t actively vote, especially in the current environment.
Wikipedia does tell us that in Otsego County, Michigan (2024 presidential election), Trump won 66% of the vote (10,693 out of 15,971 total votes). Otsego County runs about 27 points more Republican than Michigan as a whole.
The nature of the crime fits the bill, the demographic and 2024 results say a lot- the odds here are heavily leaning right, it’s no toss-up.
The Gaylord city council majority would most likely lean Republican with what is seen and would most likely select a council member with the same views for at-large seats.
Good people do not need shitty people such as Mr. Wilson pulling the strings in government while emphatically claiming to be spiritually connected to some holy entity. The amount of morons running the show is becoming a problem. Honest, realistic, brilliant people need only apply- anything less and we’re fucking cooked. To Mr. Wilson we say, gtfo.
