James “Dub” Maines was was Texas Representative Joe Barton’s deputy district director. That position is one that involves working with the public to help them with different government agencies. It’s a constituent service position. If you’re curious, here is a job description. He was arrested in 2013 when AOL noticed he was emailing child sexual exploitation material from his personal AOL account to his house.gov work e-mail. They let the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children know and the DOJ began investigating. They reported that he had been receiving child pornography since 2004.

Child Sexual Abuse Material

He pleaded no contest to one count of promoting sexual performance of a child and 28 counts of possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the first and upon release 10 years of probation for the 28 counts of possession of child pornography.

260: Rory A. Koch

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Rory A. Koch was a Republican staffer in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In 2010, he was running for Ramsey County Board when he was arrested and charged with twelve counts of possessing child pornography. He received 25% of the vote. The child-porn investigation was not public knowledge.

The Minnesota Crimes Against Children Task Force were tipped off that someone with the screen name Chadwhite73 was likely disseminating child exploitation materials. AOL identified the account as belonging to Rory Koch and his home was searched. He acknowledged receiving it but claimed he could not delete it. There were 68 images on his computer.

Koch was convicted and sentenced to five years.

258: Roger Rivard

Rape Culture

Roger Rivard was a Wisconsin state representative for one term. His crass remarks regarding a local rape involving a 17-year-old raping a 14-year-old in the band room at school. He said “some girls rape easy.” This was, he claimed, his father’s advice. Thinking to explain the full context, he said:

“What the whole genesis of it was, it was advice to me, telling me, ‘If you’re going to go down that road, you may have consensual sex that night and then the next morning it may be rape.’ So the way he said it was, ‘Just remember, Roger, some girls, they rape so easy. It may be rape the next morning.’

256: Robert Fisher

Rape Culture

Robert Fisher was a state representative in New Hampshire from 2014 to 2017. He resigned after The Daily Beast identified him as the founder of The Red Pill, a disgusting and misogynistic forum on reddit. He created many online pseudonymous account that linked back to his personal email. The first Daily Beast article shows multiple ways they tracked him from The Red Pill.

He posted hateful things like “Feminists are obsessed with rape because we live in a rape fantasy culture, where feminists wish they were hot enough to be rape-able,” When they tracked him down to ask, he wiped all his posts and went private on social media. He did continue, though, with a different pseudonym.

255: Greg Peterson

Kidnapping, Rape

Gregory Nathan Peterson was an activist for the Utah Republican party. Two women alleged he took them to his cabin and raped them. A third claimed he attempted to rape her but gave in when she showed her gun. Two other women claimed he raped them in their homes. He was charged with kidnapping as well as rape. Two days after being released on bail he killed himself leaving a vindictive, self-justifying note.

Child Molestation

Ted Nugent is a rock musician who actively supports Republican politicians. He’s threatened to kill President Barack Obama and was then invited to Obama’s State of the Union. He is a big Trump supporter and generally an awful human being. He’s also a pedophile which is brags about in his lyrics, adding the very true line, “It’s quite all right I asked your mama.”

Solicitation of a Minor

James Woods is a successful Hollywood actor (3 Emmys, 1 Golden Globe) who is a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and Republicans in general. He was a major source of election disinformation after the 2020 election contributing to the spreading of election lies that resulted in the Insurrection. He was also identified by actress Amber Tamblyn as a sexual predator, describing an incident when he tried to pick her and a friend up when she was underage. He disputes the claim and says she is lying. The incident was confirmed by the friend.
